Enter the World TV Awards for the chance to win US$5,000

The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development, in conjunction with global partners, call for entries for the World  TV Awards 2014.

Entries are sought for broadcast programmes on promoting children’s rights and climate change resilience.

The opportunity is open to all broadcasters in Asia, the Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. Entries are welcome from either the public or private sector, and from freelances.

First prize for each of the two themes is $5,000 in cash. Winners will be presented with their awards during the Asia Media Summit, to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 6 to 8 May 2014.

Last year’s winner of the category for the best TV documentary on the theme natural disasters was Catalyst: Taking Australia’s Temperature – a scene from it is pictured above. The programme was directed by Jonica Newby and broadcast by ABC Australia.

The deadline is 15 March 2014. Find out more at aibd.org.my/worldtv
