IBC 2011

The CBA had a busy time at IBC this year, with many members in attendance. As well as the two bursars – Neils Andre, Chief Broadcast Officer, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and Kazi Solaiman, Additional Chief Engineer, Bangladesh Television – staff from CBA members in Canada, South Africa, Seychelles, India, Nigeria, Gibraltar, the UK and New Zealand all dropped by the CBA stand for a chat.

On the Saturday evening, the CBA’s Technology Consultant, Neil Dormand, presented Potlaki Maine from SABC with the CBA-IBC Award for Innovative Engineering at a reception hosted by the IABM. Relationships between the CBA and the broadcasting technology industry were created and fostered; these will hopefully prove useful in helping the CBA assist its members in making the transition to digital transmission. It was also a good year for IBC, with a record number of people attending over the five days, over 50,000!

If you would like to get an idea of what IBC 2011 was like, from a CBA perspective, take a look at the photoset we have created on Flickr.
