The CBA:
- Offers unrivalled global networking opportunities for broadcasting executives and senior media managers.
- Supports the PSB output of members by lobbying and representing their interests to parliamentarians and governments.
- Hosts an active and developing website with specialised forums for information and knowledge exchange
- Holds pan-Commonwealth broadcasting conferences every two years.
- Holds regional events each year.
- Promotes partnerships and co-operation between member broadcasters.
- Organises regular training courses and consultancies, either free or subsidised for members.
- Awards annual study and travel bursaries, available only to employees of member organisations.
- Publishes an annual directory of broadcasters in the Commonwealth, free for members.
- Distributes regular electronic newsletters, Update and Transmission (which has a media technology focus).
The fee for a national broadcasting organisation takes account of the size of the organisation, the value and source of its income and its country’s GDP. The minimum annual subscription for 2014 is £1,692.

- Offers a discounted rate for exhibition stands at all CBA conferences.
- Offers 10 per cent discount off the cost of advertising in CBA publications.

The subscription fee for affiliate membership in 2014 is £2,112.
